 12 Dry Red Chillies
 6 GreenChillies
 Tamarind - a big lime size
 ¼ inch Ginger
 4 Jaggery Cubes
 1 pinch Asafoetida
 Salt to taste

Note: Hot as the chillies that go in the recipe, this hot and sweet chutney is just mouthwatering. You can call it a kind of delicious fiery chutney. You can also reduce the spice by adding less chillies (However it tastes best with more chillies, obviously). The tangy taste of tamarind added with chillies gives off a fabulous flavour. Also, as the name suggests, this chutney has chillies, tamarind and jaggery thus giving it a hot and sweet taste.

To start with, first of all crush the red chillies. You can also add salt while crushing the chillies. The dried chillies in fact gives a warm sensation to the mouth, while also adding a depth of flavour to the hot and sweet chutney. This chutney is also very easy to make at home.

After that, take the tamarind. green chillies, ginger, jaggery and asafoetida. Then, grind all these ingredients together to make a paste of your desired consistency. Finally, serve the chutney. This fiery chutney is best served with Biscuit Roti, a type of Konkani dish. I just love this hot and sweet chutney!
