14 Feb Doughnuts
Note: Often ring-shaped or ball-shaped, the Doughnuts or donut is a fried confectionery food item often sweet in taste and made of flour. You can also make it using different batter and is found with a variety of toppings.
First, in a bowl take the flour. Then, add in instant yeast, butter, sugar, salt to taste, milk and egg. Mix it all together and make a soft dough.
Then, let it rest. After an hour knead the dough some more. After that, let it rest again for an hour so that it rises well. If you are using dry yeast, keep for a long time or till the dough rises to double the size.
After that roll the dough and then cut it into the desired shape. Finally, you can deep fry the doughnuts until it turns golden brown in colour. The doughnuts will be soft.
P.S. You can have it plain or can even dip the doughnuts in chocolates. Go with either the white chocolate or dark chocolate, as you like it. You can also powder cinnamon and sugar and roll the doughnuts in them, for a different taste.
